A missed penalty in added time saw West Ham United drop two points in a 1-1 draw with Queens Park Rangers. Jarrod Bowen scored a second-half equaliser but then failed from the spot late on, leaving the Hammers to settle for a share of the spoils at home on Friday.
Madsen had given the visitors the lead from the penalty spot after 18 minutes. West Ham, who dominated possession with 65 percent of the ball, finally found a breakthrough when Bowen struck after 70 minutes. The winger then had the chance to win it in the first minute of stoppage time, but his penalty was saved.
Nuno Espirito Santo's side made two changes at half-time, introducing Austbo and Pablo for Walker-Peters and Soucek. The match saw six yellow cards, with Arne Engels and Morato booked for the hosts. The Hammers' standings position remains third, now on 16 points from nine games and four points behind leaders Swansea.
Bowen, who is the club's top scorer with five goals this season, expressed his disappointment.
The result extends West Ham's recent run to two draws and a win in their last three league matches. They must now regroup quickly for a midweek trip to face Lincoln City, who are 16th, this Wednesday.
