West Ham United are preparing for a Friday night Championship clash with Wrexham, fresh from a third straight league victory. The Hammers trained at Rush Green on Thursday as head coach Nuno Espírito Santo put his squad through their paces ahead of the visit of the Red Dragons.
Bowen leads the charge
Captain Jarrod Bowen, who scored twice in the midweek 3-2 win at Bolton Wanderers, was central to the session. That victory in front of more than 4,600 travelling fans extended West Ham's unbeaten run and kept them top of the Championship with 14 points from seven games. The team's recent form reads four wins and a draw from their last five outings.
New faces settle in
Recent arrivals Morato, Adama Boiro and Edvin Austbø continued their integration into the squad during the session. Their adaptation comes at a useful time, with defender Joël Veltman currently sidelined. The club's full squad list is available on our squad page.
Rematch on the horizon
Friday's game is a quick rematch, with West Ham having thrashed Wrexham 6-0 just days ago on September 11. Jarrod Bowen, Felipe Morato, Joel Piroe, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Taty Castellanos, Mohamadou Kante and Manor Solomon were all on the scoresheet in that emphatic victory. Phil Parkinson's Wrexham side will be aiming for a much-improved performance this time around.
With momentum firmly behind them, West Ham will look to maintain their position at the summit.
